Description

Ferrara Fire Apparatus, Inc. (Ferrara) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Igniter vehicles manufactured January 1, 2014, to May 2, 2016, equipped with certain Class 1 ES-KEY power control modules manufactured by Hale Products. The affected power control modules may not provide sufficient circuit protection depending on their combination of software and installation, possibly resulting in a short circuit.

Injuries / Consequence

A short circuit may result in damage to components of the vehicle's electrical system, affecting their function, such as causing a loss of headlights, thereby increasing the risk of a crash. A short circuit may also increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy

Ferrara will notify owners, and dealers will upgrade the software and/or retrofit fuses, free of charge. The recall began on August 26, 2016. Owners may contact Ferrara customer service at 1-225-567-7100.
