Description

DUE TO IMPROPER SEATING, THERE COULD BE A CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE WEAR WASHER AND AXLE LUG, OR BETWEEN THE WEAR WASHER AND THE INNER RACE OF THE BEARING.

Injuries / Consequence

WHEN TRUCK IS LOADED, CONTACT BETWEEN HUB NUT AND HUBEND CAP COULD CAUSE NUT TO BECOME BACKED OFF AND RESULT IN THE WHEEL BECOMINGLOOSE CAUSING FAILURE OF THE BEARING AND/OR AXLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN ANACCIDENT.

Remedy

ADJUST BEARING CLEARANCE TO PREVENT HUB NUTS FROM BACKING OFF AND WHEEL BECOMING LOOSE.
