Replacement Fuel Pumps may Leak

Description

UCI-Fram Group is recalling certain model E84070 replacement fuel pumps marketed and sold by Airtex Products, LLP. The pumps were shipped from December 11, 2013 to June 20, 2014. The affected replacement fuel pumps may begin to leak fluid caused by a poor seal around an electrical connection.

Injuries / Consequence

If the replacement fuel pumps begin to leak fluid in the presence of an ignition source, it will increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

Remedy

Airtex will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Airtex E84070 fuel pumps, free of charge. The recall campaign is expected to begin in September 2014. Owners may contact UCI customer service at 1-800-880-3056.
