Description

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE GROUP (CVG) IS RECALLING CERTAIN AFTERMARKET HP MODEL AIR SUSPENSION DRIVER SEATS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN DECEMBER 20, 2011, AND FEBRUARY 2, 2012, SOLD FOR USE ON VARIOUS HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS. THE SEAT BASES CONTAIN A POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE WELD JOINT THAT MAY ALLOW THE SEAT TO BUCKLE UNEXPECTEDLY.

Injuries / Consequence

AN UNEXPECTED MOVEMENT OR COLLAPSE OF THE DRIVER’S SEAT COULD AFFECT VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 1, 2012. THE SEATS WILL BE INSPECTED BY DEALERS TO DETERMINE IF THE WELDS WERE DONE ROBOTICALLY. SEAT BASES WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CVG AT 1-800-222-7328.
