Description

Key Safety Systems, Inc. dba Joyson Safety Systems (Joyson) is recalling certain rear seat belt retractors equipped with a dual mode belt locking mechanism. Due to a manufacturing issue, the seat belt webbing locking mechanism may not properly restrain the occupant as intended.

Injuries / Consequence

In the event of a crash, if the occupant is not properly restrained, there is an increased risk of injury.

Remedy

Joyson will notify the vehicle manufacturers that purchased the seat belt retractors. Dealers for those companies will notify owners, and replace the rear retractor assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact Joyson customer service at 1-586-726-3800.
