Description
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Legacy motorhomes, models 340BH, 340KP, and 360RB, manufactured September 12, 2013, to September 25, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with a seat belts whose shoulder belt may rest at, or below, the shoulder of the seat occupant. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies", and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Injuries / Consequence
If the shoulder belt rests too low on the torso, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Remedy
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install new seat belt systems, free of charge. An interim notice was mailed to owners on January 13, 2016. The recall began on February 1, 2016. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-293-6137 or 1-574-295-2117. Forest River's number for this recall is 40-11192015-0117.
