ON CERTAIN 60' ARTICULATED TRANSIT BUSES, THE STARTER CABLE AND ADDITIONAL HEAVY GAUGE WIRES HAD INADVERTENTLY BEEN ATTACHED TO THE STARTER STUD DURING THE MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY PROCESS.
Injuries / Consequence
OVER TIME, THE STARTER SOLENOID COULD CRACK AND A SHORT CIRCUIT MIGHT DEVELOP THAT WOULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE FIRE.
Remedy
THESE VEHICLES WERE SENT TO ONLY ONE CUSTOMER, NEW JERSEY TRANSIT. ALL VEHICLES HAVE BEEN CORRECTED.
