Description
Dexter Axle Company (Dexter Axle) is recalling certain Smart-Steer 2.0 self-steering axles. The steering arm may fracture during certain conditions, such as low speed and high side-loading.
Injuries / Consequence
The fractured steering arm and tie rod can separate and fall to the ground, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Dealers will install a new steering arm and additional welds, free of charge. Dealers and original equipment manufacturers were notified of the recall in October 2022. Owners may contact Dexter Axle's customer service at 1-574-295-7888.
