Description

POWER STEERING HOSE ASSEMBLIES WERE BUILT WITH INCORRECT END FITTINGS. THESE END FITTINGS WERE RATED AT 1250 PSI WORKING PRESSURE AND THE CORRECT END FITTINGS ARE RATED AT 2000 PSI.

Injuries / Consequence

THE END FITTINGS COULD FAIL UNDER NORMAL SYSTEM PRESSURE,RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST AND/OR LEAKAGE OF POWER STEERINGFLUID. LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROLWHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. LEAKAGE OF POWER STEERING FLUID MAY RESULT IN AFIRE.

Remedy

REMOVE AND REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE LINE BETWEEN THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE STEERING GEAR BOX.
