Description

A NUMBER OF FACTORS COULD CAUSE LONGITIDUNAL AND - OR TRANSVERSE CRACKS IN THE SPINDLE END THAT COULD LEAD TO SPINDLE END FAILURE AND SEPARATION OF WHEELS FROM VEHICLE.

Injuries / Consequence

WHEEL SEPARATION COULD OCCUR AFFECTING VEHICLE CONTROL AND STABILITY AS WELL AS PRESENTING A HAZARD TO OTHER HIGHWAY USERS, BYSTANDERS, AND PROPERTY.

Remedy

REPLACE AXLES WITH AXLES MANUFACTURED WITH BUTTWELD SPINDLES, RATHER THAN ORIGINAL INTEGRAL SPINDLES.
