Description

THE BRASS VALVE STEM IS BENT EXCESSIVELY, AND MAY RUB AGAINST THE WHEEL RIM. VALVE STEMS THAT ARE BENT MORE THAN 90 DEGRESS ARE CONSIDERED OVERBENT. CHAFING AGAINST THE WHEEL RIM WILL CAUSE A SMALL HOLE TO BE MADE IN THE VALVE STEM.

Remedy

THE VALVE STEM WILL BE INSPECTED ON TUBES THAT ARE IN SERVICE. IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF CHAFING, THE TUBE WILL BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. CHARGES FOR INSTALLING THE NEW TUBE WILL BE REIMBURSED BY THE MANUFACTURER UPON RECEIPT OF THE ORIGINAL TUBE.
