Description

QUALITY TRAILER PRODUCTS, LP. (QTP) IS RECALLING CERTAIN TRAILER AXLES WITH PART NUMBER TS20710585545IAC AND MANUFACTURED IN LOTS QR494320 AND QR493997 FROM JANUARY 24, 2012, THROUGH FEBRUARY 17, 2012. THESE AXLES WERE INSTALLED ON CERTAIN TRAILERS MANUFACTURED BY CARRY-ON TRAILERS, INC. AS PART NUMBER 2K7158. OVER TIME, THE WELD BETWEEN THE AXLE TUBE AND THE SPINDLE MAY FAIL UNDER STRESS.

Injuries / Consequence

IF THE AXLE SPINDLE FAILS, THE TRAILER WHEEL COULD SEPARATE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

QTP WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED AXLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 27, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT QTP AT 1-800-334-6355 EXT. 132.
