Description

EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: AFTERMARKET AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSERS INSTALLED ON SCHOOL AND TRANSIT BUSES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN OCTOBER 27, 1997 AND SEPTEMBER 7, 2000. PART NOS. 301250, 301297, 301309, 301362, 301364, 301298, 301482, 301362-02, 301440, 301387, AND 301379. DEFECTIVE CIRCUIT BREAKER. THESE CIRCUIT BREAKERS ARE AUTO RESET TYPE AND COULD PROVIDE A SOURCE OF IGNITION IF THEY FAIL IN THE CLOSED POSITION.

Injuries / Consequence

A BREAKER FAILING IN THE CLOSED POSITION COULD RESULT IN THE WIRES OF THE FAN OVERHEATING POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.

Remedy

OWNER ARE BEING INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT TRANS/AIR FOR A FREE RETROFIT KIT TO CHANGE THE BREAKERS TO FUSES.
