Description
Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (Cooper) is recalling certain Cooper Zeon LTZ tires size 275/55R20 XL Extra Load tubeless tires manufactured September 1, 2015, to September 14, 2015. The affected tires may experience tread cracking or tread lug chunking during use. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."
Injuries / Consequence
Tread cracking or tread lug chunking may cause a loss of tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Cooper will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall began on January 4, 2016. Owners may contact Cooper customer service at 1-800-854-6288. Cooper's number for this recall is 161.
