The burner manifold connection can separate during use, resulting in a flame outside the grill which could burn consumers and ignite nearby combustibles. CPSC is aware of one reported fire outside of a consumer's grill due to the manifold connection separating during use. No injuries were reported. The Tru-Burn Portable LP Gas Grill has a black porcelain paint finish with two chrome-plated wire, steel legs. When assembled, the gas grill is about 18- inches long and 12-inches high. There are three rectangular-shaped handles, one attached to each end of the grill's body and one attached to the lid. The box in which the grill was packaged is labeled with UPC Code 024838170001 and Kmart Code 0-118731-116. Writing on the box includes, "TRU-BURN." Kmart sold these portable grills nationwide through its Kmart stores from February 1996 through August 1998 for about $22. Consumers should immediately stop using these grills and return them to a Kmart store for a full refund. For more information, consumers should call Kmart toll-free at 1-800-63KMART anytime. The "BBQ-PRO" model portable gas grills currently being sold by Kmart are not included in this recall.
