Description

Altec Industries, Inc (Altec) is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 D2000 and D3000 boom tip winch digger derricks, equipped with winch units manufactured by Tulsa Winch Group (formerly Gear Products). The winch drum on the affected vehicles may deform or fracture.

Injuries / Consequence

A fracture of the winch drum increases the risk of personal injury.

Remedy

Altec will notify owners and dealers will inspect and replace the winch drum if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in September 2014. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 602.
