Description
CERTAIN TEREX AERIAL DEVICES, MODELS HR37 AND HR40, WHICH THE UPPER BOOM CYLINDER (437249) AND THE LOWER BOOM CYLINDER (437250) MAY HAVE A PISTON NUT THAT IS DEFECTIVE. THESE DEVICES ARE INSTALLED ON TRUCKS TO TRANSPORT THE AERIAL DEVICE TO THE WORK SITE.
Injuries / Consequence
FAILURE OF THIS NUT MAY CAUSE THE BOOMS AND PLATFORM TO FALL. A FALLING PLATFORM CAN RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
Remedy
TEREX WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPAIR THE UNITS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 7, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TEREX AT 1-605-882-4000.
