Description

HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT OF SCREWS USED TO HOLD TOGETHER VALVE BODY CAUSES THE SCREWS TO BREAK OFF UNDER STRESS.

Injuries / Consequence

THE LOSS OF BRAKE VALVE INTEGRITY COULD CAUSE AN INCREASEIN STOPPING DISTANCE, OR LOSS OF BRAKING CONTROL IN AFFECTED TRAILERS. EITHERCONDITION COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

Remedy

MANUFACTURER WILL REPLACE VALVES WITH DIFFERENT BODY SCREWS.
