Crimping on Control Arm Housing May Crack

Recalled: March 7, 2016 ~37 units affected 16E018

Description

ZF Group North America Operations (ZF) is recalling certain Control Arms model numbers 0501 218 145, and 0501 211 327 manufactured June 23, 2015, to February 2, 2016. The hot crimping that connects the tube ends to the control arm joint housing shafts may crack, causing the tube to separate from the shaft.

Injuries / Consequence

Should the tube crack and separate from the shaft of the vehicle, loss of vehicle control is possible, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

ZF will notify dealers and exchange all affected parts with new parts, free of charge. The recall began on February 12, 2016. Owners may contact ZF customer service at 1-734-416-6200.
