Hub Carrier may Crack Due to Porosity

Description

ZF Group North America Operations (ZF) is recalling certain Hub Carriers manufactured January 17, 2014, to June 1, 2015. Due to casting problems, the affected hub carriers may have areas of porosity which may result in the hub carrier leaking oil or cracking.

Injuries / Consequence

Cracks in the hub may result in hub failure, which could cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

ZF has notified the affected bus manufacturers, and their dealers will begin a routine inspection process to identify any hub carrier leaks. When parts become available, the affected hub carriers will be replaced, free of charge. Owners may contact ZF customer service at 1-734-416-6200.
