Description

Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. (Yamaha) is recalling certain model year 2014 Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycles manufactured August 1, 2014, to September 1, 2014. The front and rear wheels of the affected motorcycles may have been manufactured with insufficient hardness.

Injuries / Consequence

If the wheels have insufficient hardness, the wheels may loosen and/or air may leak from around the tire bead. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Yamaha has notified owners, and dealers will replace the front and rear wheel and tire assemblies, free of charge. The recall began on October 30, 2014. Owners may contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926. Yamaha's number for this recall is 990088.
