Description
McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc., (McNelius) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 McNeilus Bridge Master Mixer, Standard Mixer, Sliding Trailer Mixer, Standard Rear Loader, Rear Loader w/3.5 YD HD Tail, Zero Radius Automated, Auto Reach, Atlantic Front Loader, Split Body Rear Loader, Rear Loader w/Tag Axle, Metro Pak Rear Loader, XXC Rear Loader, and Pacific Front Loader vehicles manufactured August 1, 2013, to May 14, 2015. These concrete mixers and refuse trucks are equipped with certain Kidde plastic valve disposable handheld fire extinguishers that may not properly discharge when the lever is pressed.
Injuries / Consequence
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not work correctly, there is an increased risk of injury.
Remedy
McNeilus will notify owners, and advise them to follow the provided instructions from Kidde to inspect their fire extinguishers. Kidde will replace the fire extinguishers as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on October 19, 2015. Owners may contact McNeilus customer service at 1-888-686-7278.
