Outriggers May Extend into Traffic

Description

Genie Industries, Inc. (Genie) is recalling certain model year 2003-2012 TZ-34 aerial work platform trailers manufactured October 1, 2002, through July 12, 2012. In the affected trailers, the outrigger assembly may not remain stowed upright while the trailer is being transported.

Injuries / Consequence

If the outriggers do not remain stowed, the outriggers can strike objects in the trailers path, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Genie will notify owners, and dealers will install a new outrigger control manifold. The recall is expected to begin during November 2013. Owners may contact the Terex AWP at 1-800-536-1800. Genie's recall number is SN 130009.
