Description

ON CERTAIN MOTOR COACHES, INCORRECT 7.5 AMP FUSES WERE INSTALLED IN THE ANTILOCK BRAKE (ABS) CIRCUIT. THE CORRECT FUSE IS 25 AMP.

Injuries / Consequence

THE FUSE MAY BURN OUT AND RENDER THE ABS INOPERATIVE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE WHEELS TO LOCK RESULTING IN SKIDDING AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASKING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE FUSES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DURING DECEMBER 2003 WITH PHASED MAILING DATES. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT SETRA AT 1-800-882-8054.
