Description
CERTAIN TEREX AERIAL DEVICES P/N HR37 AND HR40 INSTALLED ON TRUCKS TO TRANSPORT THE AERIAL DEVICE TO THE WORK SITE. THESE UNITS HAVE A LEVELING SPROCKET WELDMENT AT THE ELBOW END THAT MAY CONTAIN DEFECTIVE WELDS.
Injuries / Consequence
FAILURE OF THE WELD MAY CAUSE THE PLATFORM TO UPSET DURING USE AND CAUSE THE OCCUPANT TO BE EJECTED. THIS CAN CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.
Remedy
THE RECALL BEGAN DURING SEPTEMBER 2004. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT TEREX UTILITIES SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT 1-605-882-4000.
