VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: AMBULANCES EQUIPPED WITH TECHNICIAN'S SEATS IN THE PATIENT COMPARTMENT MOUNTED ON WOODEN BASES. THE WOODEN SEAT BASES AND THE ASSOCIATED SEAT BELTS ARE NOT PROPERLY ANCHORED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NOS. 207, "SEATING SYSTEMS," AND 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES."

Injuries / Consequence

IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE OCCUPANT OF THIS SEAT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL RESTRUCTURE THE ATTACHMENT OF THE SEAT BASE TO THE FLOOR AND TO THE FRONT BULKHEAD.
