Description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: BUSES. THESE BUSES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS." THE PARKING BRAKE MAY BE INADEQUATE AT GVWR ON A 20% SLOPE.

Injuries / Consequence

THE PARKING BRAKE MAY NOT RESTRAIN THE VEHICLE WHEN ON A 20% SLOPE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH PARTS, INSTRUCTIONS AND ASSISTANCE IN INSTALLING LARGER SPRING BRAKES ON THE DRIVE AXLE. NEW FLYER WILL REIMBURSE THE OWNER'S FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR COSTS INVOLVED.
