Description
MITSUBISHI FUSO (MFTA) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 FEC52, FEC72, AND FEC92 TRUCKS MANUFACTURED FROM FEBRUARY 10, 2011, THROUGH APRIL 8, 2011, FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 208 OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION. DURING ASSEMBLY, INCORRECT PASSENGERS SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLES WERE INSTALLED. THE PASSENGERS SIDE SEAT BELT TONGUE WILL NOT ENGAGE ITS BUCKLE CORRECTLY.
Injuries / Consequence
FAILURE OF THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE TO ENGAGE CORRECTLY INCREASES THE RISK OF PASSENGER INJURY OR DEATH.
Remedy
MFTA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PASSENGERS SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 12, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MFTA AT 1-856-467-4500.
